Escalante's favorite watering hole on Byway 12
4th West Pub anchors Escalante's modest but well-loved dining scene on Main Street, making it the go-to spot for a cold drink and a hot meal after a day on the trails of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument or Scenic Byway 12. With a 4.6-star rating across 350 Google reviews, it punches well above what you'd expect from a small-town Utah bar.
The pub serves a bar-and-grill menu in a casual, unpretentious setting — the kind of place that fills up with hikers, road-trippers, and the occasional local rancher. Pricing runs at a moderate $$ range, in line with what you'd pay in Torrey or Boulder. The vibe is relaxed and social, with the bar itself being a natural gathering point for anyone winding down from a long day in canyon country.
4th West Pub is open Tuesday through Saturday, 5:00–10:00 PM; it is closed Sunday and Monday. Keep those hours in mind — Escalante dining options are limited, and showing up on a Sunday night without a backup plan leaves few alternatives. The pub sits on the western stretch of Main Street, easy to find in a town this size. Escalante is roughly midway along Byway 12, about 65 miles southeast of Torrey, making it a natural dinner stop for travelers doing the full corridor from Capitol Reef toward Bryce Canyon or the Canyons of the Escalante.

Dave, our bartender took great care of us. Even remembered us the second day we stopped in. Great place to eat (and one of only few) in Escalante, UT!
